A new study has revealed that 96 per cent of the population want more than we already have. According to the Direct Line Aspiration Index the total bill for the nation’s aspirations comes to £230 billion – in order for the average person to meet their realist goals within the next five years. Travel Money Cards - Avoid ATM ChargesBritish holidaymakers spent over £391 million in ATM withdrawal fees while travelling abroad within the past year, according to new research carried out by Sainsbury’s. ATM machines with new technology that allow consumers to withdraw cash without the use of a credit or debt card are being rolled out. ATMs kept busy over bank holiday

Britons really hit the plastic over the bank holiday weekend, with over £1.5bn (£1.54bn) being withdrawn from LINK cash machines across the country. This was over £100m (£133m) more than was taken out last May Day bank holiday. Friday was the busiest day, with nearly £600m (£590m) being withdrawn by people with credit cards and debit cards. It also set a new record for the busiest ever day for LINK ATMs, beating the previous record of £565m set on Christmas Eve last year. The most hectic hour last Friday was between noon and 1pm, when over 1.1m transactions took place across Britain.

Average Personal Debt Hits £8,400

The average UK personal debt is £8,400 new figures reveal, but people do not start worrying until it reaches in excess of £9,700. According to Moneysupermarket, individuals on average owe £8,431 excluding mortgages, and men have a 24 percent higher rate of personal debt than women as they owe on average £9,403 compared to £7,593.
